Kau`i taught herself to ride her bike yesterday. While living in Guiyang, she was a just a passenger that rode in the back. With the girls are Jacob and Lily, our neighbors.

CALLING GUIYANG FRIENDS

We surprised Kau`i today by saying she could call her friends in Guiyang. She was thrilled. She spoke in Chinese, but we overheard her saying "Hello is Ni hao and Thank you is Shay-shay." We sort of hovered over her as she talked and she slowly walked in her room to finish her conversation. It was a short ten minute talk because the person in charge said is cost Kau`i's parents a lot of money to call :0) Kau`i was happy and when she got off the phone she immediately went on with her day.Thursday, March 11, 2010

EMERGENCY ROOM

Does this look like a sick girl? Yesterday the school called because Kau`i was experiencing heart palpitations. A trip to the hospital emergency room and two doses of Adenosine, our daughter's heart was beating normally again. Thankfully we will see an end to her heart problem. The week of April 20, she will go to Straub Clinic on Oahu where the surgeons will do a process called an ablation. In the meantime we pray we don't have to go through this stressful ordeal again.
