FINALLY I-800A APPROVAL

I was at Safeway when I got the call. A record of a little less than 3 months to receive. Word of advice! Make sure you have all record of express mail receipts. Some of the paperwork got lost in USCIS shuffle.

Check out out grandson Ryland. Isn't he a cutie pie?

FUN AND SURFING AT THE COVE

Awesome Saturday evening sunset!

We had a great four-day school week. Friday was a Hawaiian holiday "Prince Kuhio Day." We went to see the movie "Rango." It was cute. Monday there's no school as well. Let me see ... It's Staff Development Day!

The highlight of our week was calling our daughter Kailani in China. Of course it was very hard getting through. We tried for over three weeks. Finally person on the other end said "Wei" very loudly! "Ni Hao! Shi Ya Fang calling Zhambingying?" Sisters talked or should I say happily screamed on the other end! Kai asked if Nuinui lived close to us? Do you see her? Do you talk? Yes, sometimes. Kailani said is now 12 years old and in the 6th grade. They chatted more and in closing she said please call again soon!

We are patiently waiting for our I800-A. If things go as planned we should be in China perhaps July or August.

WE ARE STILL HERE

...but we are preoccupied getting out of the spring break mode and into the school work mode. This afternoon we just finish with homework. Having to monitor three girls with their homework is not fun. Kau`i is doing good speaking English. This afternoon's homework was word relationships. After reading the story to her, Kau`i
find vocabulary words that are antonym and synonym. That was hard! Then there is Maile who is in the advanced 1st grade class which means a lot of homework (reading, math and word sentences). Makena has homework too and she's doing just fine.

Kau`i finally got to hold her niece Zoey (almost 3 months old). Ryland (18 months) tried to hold her too!

KAPALUA FUN

Traveling about 55 minutes north to our condo away from home in another tourist destination is like a vacation without flying on an airplane. Nice! We are sunburned, happy and relaxed. P.S. Donnie, we are enjoying the best french fries ever!

SPRING BREAK

Yes, Spring break started on Friday, although our kiddos still have to keep busy with WizzKids, Lexia and Starfall (sp.?) and Kau`i, poor girl, has homework! We have a week full of fun. Monday we go and spend a couple days at our condo in Kapalua for beach, pool, tennis and just plain fun. Girls are packed and ready to go!

FUNNY GIRL

Kau`i loves the food we eat especially chicken, fish, fruits and vegetables. She is very careful not to eat too much because she says "I don't want to get fat!" Kau`i is 4 ft 8-1/2" tall, weighs 79 pounds, and wears size 5 tennis shoes. When she came home over a year ago she was only 61 pounds. We are slowly seeing physical changes in her body and personality. She is still our sweet angel who loves to help and sometimes think she is mom to her little sisters.

Our girls took the entrance exam and will attend Doris Todd Christian School in Paia for the next school year. The school is a Christ-centered, blblically-directed education which instills the desire and practice of academic excellence and moral integrity. It is a far commute from home but all worth it. Makena will be in the 1st grade, Maile in the 2nd(although she thinks she should skip and go into the 3rd grade), and Kau`i will repeat the 5th grade to help solidify her English and math skills. She's very happy about this decision!
