Desiree at 2 days old
Madilyn at one day old.
Proud Bompa! He and Ryan were in the delivery room with Desiree. They all agreed the second time around was a breeze.
Daddy gets to dress his daughter first.
Splitting image of our daughter Desiree when she was born. Madilyn weighed 8 pounds 12 ounces and 20 inches long.

NO LOA YET

Last week Dale and I were asked by our agency to scan and send in our current passports because China only NOW noticed the copies that are in our old dossier expired. Ugh! Frankly speaking, this #4 adoption process has not been easy on us. We keep thinking we are getting closer to seeing Kailani only to get e-mail after e-mail stating China needs this and China needs that. Please let this be the last hurdle we have to complete.

Girls are doing great in school by the way and the drive is not bad at all...

And our daughter Desiree is 4 centimeters as I write this. I'm sure we will get a call at about 2 in the morning saying "Mom, Dad it's time!"

(Update: Still no baby and it's now Thursday, 7:30 a.m.)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RY!!!

He is 2 years old! Loves his gift from Bompa!
Ry with Dad and Mom.
Zoey (7 months) with Dad.

FIRST DAY SCHOOL

Makena and her teacher.
We left our home at 7 a.m. and made it to school in 35 minutes. Doris Todd Christian School starts at 7:45 a.m. At the girls' old school, we made it in 5 minutes and classes began at 8:30 a.m. Big difference. Half way in our car, Makena said "And we have to do this every day!"

The girls were happy at first. When we got to school Maile was scared and shedded tears. She's the only new student in her class of 17. Makena and Kau`i were no problem. Makena's class has four girls and six boys, Maile's has 12 girls and five boys, and Kaui's four girls and eight boys.

Can't wait to pick girls up after school to see their faces.

MAKENA

Fun loving Makena, so full of energy from morning until night, said to me: "Mom! I love you. I'm so glad you bought me." I didn't buy you Makena. "Oh, I mean, I'm so glad you paid for me." Makena, we did not pay for you. We paid money to the agency and CCCWA who helped us with all the paperwork in order to adopt you. Oh... I love you!

FUN IN THE SUN

Since last week we have been scrambling with getting our school supplies and uniforms in order for the coming school year. School starts August 16 and we are almost complete with our shopping. It's a challenge sometimes because girls get distracted while helping out. Next week, fingernail polish comes off! It's not allowed at their new school which is okay with the girls. In the meantime, our children cannot get enough absorbing the last several days of summer fun.
