On a different note, we are happy to be home united with the rest of our family. Aside from the fact that a semi slowly rolled into the back of our Sienna van while we waited at a stop light in Portland, our trip home was uneventful.

On the adoption front, we are not over the hurdle yet. As of last week China required another letter from us. Part of the letter stated "we are aware of the post adoption home study report requirements." The fact that we will not receive our travel approval until after August 1, adoptive families are now required to have five post adoption home studies instead of two. This letter that was sent to the CCAA had to be notarized, certified and authenticated. Hopefully this will be it and we will received our LOA soon.

OH WHAT FUN!

Hail!!!

Makena, I don't think we will be able to afford a house in Bend!
Our beautiful Kau`i inside and out!
And, of course, there is Maile...
and just as beautiful Makena!

Beautiful day ending with thunder showers! The best part of the day was simply hiking instead of riding our bikes. End result... refreshments (my latte). We love the outdoors. It's awesome seeing deers, squirrels and more. We love it here and look forward to next summer.

GOOD FRIDAY

Outside of Greg's Grill.

TENNIS, ETC.

Awesome picture
Girls' wearing their favorite dresses.
Makena "tying Luke up" game.
Very focus!
Kau`i would make a great tennis instructor. Very positive and patient.

As I write this, Kau`i is on a dirt bike ride to the Deschutes Falls with her cousin Luke. She loves the challenging bike ride ahead. Kau`i took her camera and will post pictures later.

TWO WEEKS

We are soaking up our last two weeks here in Sunriver. We love our home away from home. Did some bicycle riding , fed the horses and ate ice cream. Makena wore her gloves while feeding the pony just in case!

The Sunriver library is a big hit with the girls because they love to read. We frequent it twice a week.

We are eating spaghetti again tonight. We had homemade spaghetti three nights in a row! I believe it will be awhile before I eat spaghetti again. Kau`i did not want to go to the grocery store to buy dinner. She said we have a lot of food to eat at home before we leave and we don't want to waste. That's my girl.

CELEBRATING OUR FREEDOM

Every year we look forward to the Sunriver Fireman's Picnic on the 4th of July. The most exciting is... face painting! Next year the girls already have their design picked out.
